Upper Room Devotional..Maps

Our Minister of Youth ask me to help him create something for a Youth gathering being held at our church on May 1st. He said the theme was going to be along the lines of "Graduation". After reading this Devotional today, I'm thinking this scripture will be the basis of our work, what better advice can you give a Graduate?

Besides that, my Mom was the "Navigator" for my Dad in all their years of adventures ! I miss them dearly but I have wonderful memories and slide shows of their wanderings.  Below is today's Upper Room Devotional:

Maps

In all your ways acknowledge [the Lord], and he will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:6 (NIV)

MY mom has always liked maps. When she and Dad traveled the world, she was the navigator. When she studies the Bible, she has a map by her side. If she hears that someone is traveling, she gets out her map. The other day, we were headed for the Honolulu Zoo. On the way, she said that she wished she had a map with her. I assured her that we would get there, but she still wished for a map.

I like maps too. The map of the world in our hallway reminds me of John Wesley's words:

"I look upon all the world as my parish."

My favorite map for my life is the Bible. But if I'm studying about wandering in the wilderness, it matters not to me where the Sinai desert is. What matters is that I'm lost, and I'm comforted that God is with me. If I'm on the road to Calvary, suffering with Christ, the exact location of that journey doesn't matter. What matters is that I'm with Christ and he's with me. When I travel down any road, I know that God is before me, beside me, behind me, and above me. I know this because I have learned about who God is and who I am by studying the Bible.
