Charlotte Safari...

Last weekend I went to Charlotte to visit Angela and Devin plus meet my two cousins Jr. and Richard. They were attending a Fishing Expo and Jr. was doing to do some Ancestry digging on the side so we just rolled it all into one big Safari (as my mom would say). Saturday morning while the guys were at the Expo and Dev at work, Angela and I started off with a few errands then we were off...

The first place Angela wanted to show me was 24-7. It is a warehouse that is converted into a worship space. There are nooks and crannies for individual prayer or spaces for groups to meet, do artistic things, it was so peaceful. This is an International group that started in the UK.

Then we headed in NoDa the Art district to visit the art galleries. We saw some awesome Art, plus the building were unique!

After everyone had finished for the day we met back at Angela and Devin's house and went out to dinner. We walked to the Light Rail and rode into downtown Charlotte. We were headed to a place called Rock Bottom but on the way this Irish Pub was spotted so we detoured to Ri Ra. It was so nice and warm with a fireplace. We all talked up a storm and ate an Irish fare, Shepherds Pie, Beef N' Guinness Stew, Fish and Chips along with Guninness and Irish Coffee. It was a great night ! We were all full and the walk to the Light Rail and back to the house was brisk but fun.

Sunday morning the Cousins left Charlotte to head back to Tennessee. Jr. did some Ancestry digging on the Stroud side and met some kin folk at a country store. He had a whole safari himself. Richard headed back to the Lake to use some of the "fly" fishing techniques he learned. We attend church at Mosaic and afterwards went out to eat at Olive Garden, where the breadsticks went fast. I'm still longing for "cheesecake". I headed home that afternoon in time to watch the Super Bowl. What a great weekend and then a great week I have had with my birthday. I am blessed.
